Dharma Events in the Treasure Valley

On Saturday, May 18th, the Vietnamese Buddhist temple on Overland Road will be celebrating Buddha's birthday with food, music, and other festivities.  They are selling tickets for prizes, including cash prizes and a trip to Vietnam.  The tickets are $5 and you can buy them directly from the nuns who live at the temple.  I have included a link to their website, although it is not up to date, http://linhthuutemple.webs.com/

Beginner's Mind Sangha is sponsoring a practice weekend June 12th-16th with Peggy Rowe.  I've attached a flyer with information. You can also learn more about Beginner's Mind on their website, http://www.beginnersmindsangha.org/retreats.php

Also in June, is an evening with Elizabeth Mattis Namgyal, author of, The Power of an Open Question, on June 20th.  She is being sponsored by Heart of the Dharma,

Our good friend, Colin Gipson, lead teacher at San Antonio Zen Center in Texas, will be leading a day of Zen practice, July 6th, at North End Wellness. More details to come, but definitely save the date.

Lastly, San Francisco Zen Center Central Abbot, Myogen Steve Stucky, will be leading a weekend retreat, August 16th-18th (http://www.sfzc.org/zc/display.asp?catid=3,76,107&pageid=102 )  It may be at North End Wellness, or we may be able to use Kimbal Sensei's dojo in the North End. More details to emerge.  Some of you have already volunteered to help pay for airfare and I will be getting back with specific donation requests soon.  I appreciate the outpouring of generosity!  Very grateful :)
